CELEBRATING THE 2009 MICAH PROJECTS ANNUAL DINNER

Many thanks to the Micah Projects Inc membership who gathered for the formalities of the AGM at 5:15pm. Michael Kelly (President) welcomed everyone and delivered his report including details of Micah Projects Inc. Public Liability Insurance at the level of liability $50 million. Karyn Walsh (Coordinator) presented the annual reports.

250 people enjoyed an evening of performance as we celebrated another year of achievements at Micah Projects Inc.

Uncle Des Sandy opened the evening with a welcome to country that left everyone in the room understanding that, as Uncle Des said, "there are no strangers here now, just people we havn't met yet"

Before dinner Moodch gave a performance of Aboriginal song and music. With many in the room left stating that it was clearly the best didgeridoo performance they had ever heard.

Ann Birmingham, Marie Robertson & Jane Carpenter entertained with a number of songs. Ann, Marie and Jane have been working on the Making Music for Mental Health program auspiced by Micah Projects.

Roseanne Haggerty, Founder and President of Common Ground (New York) was the guest speaker. After dinner Rosanne gave an overview of the establishment of Common Ground, its development, the challenges they have faced and the key factors to ensuring positive outcomes in supportive housing.

One of the great highlights of the night was the first public screening of a short documentray made about this years Moonlight Magic Dinner Dance.
